ZAGAT — 12 Hottest Beer Gardens in LA — by Lesley Balla
We have new beer bars popping up all over town, amazing taprooms and fantastic outdoor patios for day and night sipping. But when it comes to a great beer garden, German-inspired or not, there are only a few places that fit the bill. When suds and sun are calling, here’s where to go.
Dog Haus Biergarten
The Old Town Pasadena outpost of this growing (and now franchised) hot dog and sausage chain is the first with an extensive beer, wine and cocktail list, plus a large outdoor patio for imbibing. Happy hour offers some great deals during the week.
What to Drink: The beer list keeps a tight focus on craft brews from around the country, and it's always changing and revolving. Watch the social media channels for highlights on tap takeovers and other special-guest pours.
What to Eat: The loaded Dog Haus sausages and hot dogs are legendary, all served on sweet Hawaiian rolls. But you can also get the Freiburger at the Biergarten, an Angus beef burger topped with fries, coleslaw, cheese and a fried egg.
