4 Crazy Thanksgiving Food Mash-Ups To Try Around Town

LAIST — 4 Crazy Thanksgiving Food Mash-Ups To Try Around Town

Everyone seems to love a culinary mash-up these days. Heck, a college student at UCLA just created a "ramnut," which is basically a hybrid of the ramenburger and a donut. So why not apply that same hybrid philosophy to America's most indulgent holiday? Well, some restaurants have. These are some of the more inventive results. The Turducken Sausage at Dog Haus: Adam Gertler of "The Next Food Network Star" fame is making a serious mashup for his holiday offerings at DogHaus, namely the Plymouth Rockwürst—a sausage featuring smoked turkey, chicken and duck with fresh sage, rosemary, thyme, whiskey-soaked cranberries, and yams. The creation is topped off with apple cranberry mostarda, sweet potato tots and sausage gravy on grilled King's Hawaiian rolls. It's sold for $6.99, which is a pretty good deal considering how pricey a giant feast can cost. Take the extra scratch and use it to order some festive sweet tater tots, a butter pecan shake, pecan beer, or if you're at their location in Pasadena, the Old Musket Cocktail made with bourbon whisky, chocolate bitters and a blend of nut flavored liqueur. Dog Haus
