VENTURA COUNTY STAR ONLINE — Cafe Society: Giving The Collection in Oxnard its 2-year check up
Freebies will be part of the grand-opening scene when Dog Hausmakes its Ventura County debut in Thousand Oaks from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 21.
Visitors to the new fast-casual restaurant will be able to sample one free Haus Dog each from a selection that includes the avocado-topped Sooo Cali, the smoked bacon-wrapped Downtown and the barbecue-sauced Cowboy. The full menu of corn dogs, house-made sausages and burgers (including the Motley Bleu 2.0, making its bleu-sriracha-sauce debut) will also be available for ordering.
The Dog Haus chain launched in Pasadena in 2010. Paul Homayoun opened the first franchise location in June in Canoga Park, and is teaming with co-franchisee Gina Candari to open the Thousand Oaks site, the eighth in the chain overall. Its address is the former Denny’s building at Moorpark Road and Thousand Oaks Boulevard, now divided into three spaces. (Urbane Cafe is slated to open there in April.)
Dog Haus features raised communal tables of wood and steel, with overhead light fixtures crafted from New Belgium Brewing Co.kegs. Beers from Ladyface Ale Companie of Agoura Hills will be on tap, along with cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon served in Dog Haus koozies (50 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., 805-497-3644, doghaus.com).
