EATER LA — Dog Haus Invades Burbank, Gives Away Free Hot Dogs Saturday, November 22 — by Farley Elliot
Popular Pasadena-based hot dog chain Dog Haus expands into nearby Burbank.
Another day, another Dog Haus. This time, the quickly franchising hot dog purveyors have set their sights on Burbank proper, with future plans to take further take over the Valley before conquering the nation.
Opening Saturday, November 22, Dog Haus Burbank is a nearly 1,400 square foot eatery on Olive Avenue across from the Warner lot, stuffed with communal tables, bar stools and a few booths around the perimeter. The stand-alone space will also offer some outdoor seating, to take advantage of all those sunny Burbank days.
For food, expect the usual blend of all-beef skinless franks, housemade sausages and burgers served up on grilled King's Hawaiian rolls. Then there are, of course, the yearly stunt dogs, like a Thanksgiving-themed turducken sausage, running through the end of the month. An on-site beer and wine license means drinkers will eventually be able to enjoy pints of local beer from Golden Road, Eagle Rock Brewery, Stone and more.
To celebrate the impending opening this Saturday, Dog Haus Burbank will be giving away their simple Haus dogs to anyone who stops by. Sounds like a great option for anyone shopping at IKEA who's not in the mood for Swedish meatballs.
