iPourIt Gets $350K, Dog Haus

ORANGE COUNTY BUSINESS JOURNAL ONLINE — iPourIt Gets $350K, Dog Haus — by Paul Hughes

Lake Forest-based iPourIt Inc. said its self-serve beer dispensing system would be in two Dog Haus restaurants in Orange County, and that it closed on an additional $350,000, after a $1 million angel investment from January.

The company makes and sells hardware and software to restaurants and other venues to sell beer by what patrons pour, to the tenth of an ounce.

Chief Executive Joseph McCarthy said his agreement is with the Pasadena-based parent of the gourmet hot dog chain. Franchised locations—one open in Santa Ana and one planned in Fullerton—will get the system, he said.

“[Dog Haus founders] are craft beer guys and one of our investors put us together,” with them, he said.

In January, iPourIt raised $1 million in a group led by Tech Coast Angels. It closed recently on a $350,000 “over-allotment” through Barbara Corcoran Venture Partners.

McCarthy first met Corcoran on an unaired episode of the show “Shark Tank.”

“We got a second bite at the apple,” McCarthy said.

The system is in 44 locations in 21 states, he said.

The company has raised about $2.4 million so far.
