EATER LA — LA's Dog Haus Expands To Thousand Oaks: Next, The World. — by Farley Elliott
2015 promises massive growth for the local hot dog brand.
Casual hot dog and drinks spot Dog Haus just keeps on rolling, next sinking their teeth into Thousand Oaks. It marks a new step for the burgeoning brand, with its first location in Ventura County.
The Southern California chain with a Pasadena pedigree has been pushing further and further out into the world as part of an overall franchising agreement, bringing a flood of new locations to the Southland. Most recently was Burbank late last year, though Canoga Park, Alhambra and Santa Ana have also popped up recently. What’s even bigger is the company’s out-of-state expansion, with some 72 planned locations and 11 currently under construction in states like Arizona, Utah and Colorado. By the end of the year, there could be as many as 23 Dog Haus locations nationwide — that’s a lot of hot dogs. The rest of the country is taking notice too, marking Dog Haus as one of the breakout brands for the year in Nation’s Restaurant News, an industry publication.
The Thousand Oaks branch comes to life next Saturday, February 21 inside of a former Denny’s (a bit of schadenfreude there) on Thousand Oaks Blvd. A franchise outlet run by independent operators, this Dog Haus will offer beer and wine inside the 1,400 sq. foot restaurant, both with a craft focus. Dog Haus Thousand Oaks will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
