National Cheeseburger Day Deals: Where to Score Free & Cheap Burgers Across America

EXAMINER.COM — National Cheeseburger Day Deals: Where to Score Free & Cheap Burgers Across America

Have you heard the news? According to a KTLA 5 report published on Sept. 17, a delicious food holiday is hours away and Americans are in the “mooood” to celebrate. Hip hip hooray – Sept. 18, 2015, is National Cheeseburger Day in the U.S.A.

Folks have been gobbling up cheeseburgers since they were "invented" back in the 1920s Although there is some debate as to who actually invented the cheeseburger, 16-year-old Lionel Sternberger is often credited as the inventor of the cheesy burger. Some say the teenager was working as a short-order cook at a little place on famous Route 66 when he added a slice of cheese to a burger, and the rest, as they say, is food history!

Whether you prefer yours plain or loaded with the works, when it comes to good, burgers are just about as American as mom, apple pie and baseball! And if you just happen to like yours with cheese on top, today is your lucky day! In fact, some businesses across the country will be offering special burger deals in honor of the occasion.

Make it a double, please! All Dog Haus locations across America will also be participating this year. Hungry customers who stop in on Sept. 18, will get a free upgrade from any Haus burger to a double – all day long. That’s about a $2 savings!
