National Hamburger Day deals: Smokin’ burger meal deals across America

EXAMINER.COM  — National Hamburger Day deals: Smokin’ burger meal deals across America

Have you heard the news? According to a Broward Palm Beach report published on May 27, a very special day is almost here and Americans are in the "moood" to celebrate. Get ready to fire up the grill, folks. May 28, 2015, is National Hamburger Day, an annual food holiday that celebrates the delicious hamburger. Whether you prefer yours topped with all the trimmings, sandwiched between a sesame seed bun or smothered with lots of ooey gooey cheese, it’s time to celebrate that classic American staple - the burger.

Although burgers are often considered as American as apple pie, legend has it that hamburgers actually originated in Hamburg, Germany. And talk about popular. Americans consume about 50 billion burgers a year. Fast food giant, McDonald’s, sells over 75 hamburgers every single second. While this holiday celebrates the traditional beef hamburger, burgers can be made with a host of other products besides beef like salmon, turkey and Portobello mushrooms. In honor of National Hamburger Day, some restaurants will be celebrating the occasion with some pretty tasty deals.
