DALLAS, Texas — Grandscape and Nebraska Furniture Mart Texas, affiliates of Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway, have started construction on the next phase of its $1.5 billion mixed-use development anchored by a massive Nebraska Furniture Mart.

This phase, aptly dubbed the Boardwalk District, comes with a price tag of $45 million, and will feature an 11-acre manmade lake, several restaurants and an 1,800 person concert venue. Two restaurants have already signed on to open in the Boardwalk District, Dog Haus and Bread Zeppelin, both of which are slated to open in the fall of 2016.

In addition, Grandscape has started construction on two multi-tenant buildings along Plano Parkway in between Bargain Way and Nebraska Furniture Mart Drive. The company is currently in the pre-leasing phase for these two properties.
